Gaffigan Gets Word out about Pacifica Dad Brand

Gaffigan Gets Word out about Pacifica Dad Brand

After first inventing the minivan, Chrysler is now reinventing it with the 2017 Pacifica. In fact, the Pacifica already is on sale at Route 46 Chrysler, and as all-new alternative to modern family cars, it's also got an all-new target audience. Oh, soccer moms are still more than welcome, but Chrysler is appealing directly to dads, too. They've even enlisted a dad to help: Jim Gaffigan, the actor/comedian/writer/producer who stars in the Pacifica's first marketing campaign.

As explained in a press release by Tim Kuniskis, the head of Passenger Car Brands for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles-North America: "With Millennial families in mind, our 'Dad Brand' campaign with comedian Jim Gaffigan establishes that the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica's unprecedented level of functionality, versatility, technology and exterior design again transforms the segment-adding 37 minivan firsts for an unprecedented total of 115 innovations- while instantly adding to your 'dad cred' with not only your children, but also within your neighborhood."

Helping matters, Gaffigan is an expert on the topic of family transportation, as he and his wife have five kids of their own. They also star in the tv spots, such as the one in which Gaffigan considers how driving the Pacifica-with over 100 safety and security features-is "Good for Your Dad Brand."

It turns out that some of those features also are good for making history. After all, the Pacifica is the first minivan in the country to offer a forward emergency braking system, and as a result, it's also the first to earn a 2016 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Indeed, the IIHS rated the Pacifica's front crash-prevention tech as "superior," the highest grade available.

A further first-in-class innovation shown off by Gaffigan in that commercial is the Pacifica's hands-free, foot-operated sliding doors-which are complemented by a tailgate with similar technology.

Meanwhile, complementing the television campaign is a new Web series starring Gaffigan and the Pacifica. "Street Smarts" videos will appear on YouTube as well as on the brand's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. In this series, the focus will be on competitive advantages like the Pacifica's exclusive Stow 'n Go seats, the Stow 'n Vac in-vehicle vacuum, and the Uconnect Theater rear-seat entertainment technology.

Uconnect Theater provides a wide range of resources to keep back-seat occupants busy, including two independent 10-inch screens, a bundle of built-in apps and games, USB and HDMI ports, two remote controls, two headphones, and, coming later in the year, wireless connectivity. And remember, that's in addition to the available 8.4-inch touchscreen up front that's the largest in the segment and supports full-function navigation, among other functions.

Added Kuniskis: "Our new 'Street Smarts' web series is a natural extension of our 'Dad Brand' marketing campaign, and patently demonstrates how the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica outsmarts the competition with its unprecedented total of 115 innovations and class-exclusive features."

Customers can count on finding one that's right for them in our inventory.
